I have traced the Sibsons back to John Sibson 1691-1740 m Jane Smith.His parents were John Sibson & Ann Harrison (bdm unknown) Above John Sibson's son was Robert 1711-1750 m Mary Herd. his son John 1743-1779 m Jane Ashbridge. his son Joseph 1772-1856 m Sarah Topping.his son John 1804-1883 m Jane Murray. his son John 1840-1917 m Julia Greggains. his son John 1865-1929 m Amelia S Green (my g/parents) I've been told Julia Greggains traces back to Rob Roy MacGregor but as yet I can't find how far back. The Sibsons hid Mary, Queen of Scots in one of her flights to Scot. The Sibson came from the Cumbria district of Cumberland, Eng. Also were garnted Coat of Arms from King Edward (3)Also cared for him when he was wounded by the army of Robert the Bruce. I'm interested in swapping any info re our family with anyone worldwide.
