Amy Silvers began researching her family roots in 1999. My father Joe Albert Gerard and mother Francis Alberta Rumble-Gerard spurred my interest with stories of past family members. My parents are aging and I knew once they were gone there would be nobody to answer my questions. It had to be recorded for myself and my children and their children. Even though they were not interested at the time I knew there would come a day that they too would have questions and an interest in their roots.
