Updated January 29, 2001

About Our Family Research

Three branches of the SILVOY family are present in the United States today. The parents of these families immigrated to the USA and settled in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania in the early 1900s. These individuals were said to be second cousins. The parents of one was Andew Szilvaiy from Sedikert, Austria (now known as Zakradne, Saris, Hungary). He was married to Anna Arron. Their son, Andrew M. Silvoy came to the USA aboard the vessel TRAVE and arrived through Ellis Island on 3/1/1907 (see panel 673). He married Ann Elizabeth Bennick on 11/16/1913, and together they had six children. Currently there are six generations of the Silvoy family living in the Lehigh Valley area. The second Silvoy family is primarily located in the Bethlehem area while the third is today concentrated in the North Carolina area.
