I am Thava Vinayahan Sivapragasam, son of Sivapragasam & Kanagamma, and my wife is Vanitha Malar, daughter of Kandasamy and Bavani (Poopathy). Both my wife and I, and our parents and their ancestors have lived at the gorgeous and spiritual island of Nayinar-Theevu (now Nainativu), for many generations before we finally left Sri Lanka in 1984 to come to Canada. I have gathered information with respect to about 10 generations of our ancestors and descendants. A ten generation family tree is included in this home page of mine. The oldest ancestor in the tree on my father's side is Kathirithamby Notarist. His father was Ramachandirar the only son of Ramalingar who was rebuild the temple for the worship of Nagapooshani Amman in circa 1782, at the original site of the old temple that was destroyed by the Portuguese in circa 1620.
According to the family information available our ancestors had held various highly educated positions in their time including notaries and government servants and part of the well respected families of Nainativu Island.
