1869...According to a newspaper article published in the Avenal Progress February 20, 1992. George Skaggs was in the Lemoore area in 1869. He, James Wright and Jack Boyle rowed a boat to Kettleman city
to hunt mountain sheep.

1870...did not find George Washington Skaggs or his Wife Ann C. Sharp in 1870 Census. Not sure why, maybe just over looked him. will have to look again.
