Ancestors came from Poland around 1900. Came in to New York City Harbor to become naturalized U.S. citizens. Two brothers and my great-grandfathers wife came on the boat together. One brother left on his own, never to be seen again. My great-grandfather and his wife spelled their last name as Skrzypek and changed it to Skrypek after the war. They moved to northwestern Wisconsin in a town called Conrath, which is in Rusk County. The area at the time was called Starzak or Dogville. There was a schoolhouse on Blueberry Lane where they lived and raised 11 children on a Homesteading Act tract of land. The children all went to school there and there are 4 surviving children left. Survivors are my father John Skrypek, my aunt Anne Frank, my aunt Estelle Piehler, and my aunt Peggy Funnymark. They all reside in Wisconsin. They are quite unsure about a lot of information to date, although the graveyard where the entire family is buried was owned by my great-grandfather, which is located in Conrath, Wisconsin.
