Our family is looking for any connections to the William David ("Dave") Lewis and Delaney (a.k.a. "Laney"/"Lanie") Louvina (Louise?) Askew. Dave and Laney lived in the Pitkin, Vernon Parish, Louisiana area. Dave was allegedly from Coffee County, AL but his family was also said to have come from England. Laney always maintained she was born in Arkansas and her death certificate states her father was Henry Asque. There are Askews in and/or around the Columbia County, Ark. area but there are also Askews located in and/or around the Marion County, MS area. It is really peculiar because this Henry Askew (70 years old in 1900) was a few doors down from my Great-Uncle Monroe Bilbo (renter) as well as Henry's wife is named Louisa/Louvina on the census. Also of interest with this family is the fact that there is an Esther in one of the next door Askews, a Luther Askew as well as an Ellis E. These names are also part of Laney's immediate children's/grandchildren's names. Looking for any connections also of the Case family that married into the Lewis family as well, Mary Edna (Katherine? a.k.a. "Mollie/Molly") Case-Lewis. Mollie said she was born in Denver but all the census reports stated she was born either in LA or in TX. Any help is greatly appreciated! Also of interest, the Hoglan/Beeson families that also married into the Lewis family. Thanks!
