My wife, AnnaMaria, and I were married in East Greenwich, RI on January 8, 1977. My two children were both born in Annapolis, MD. Stephanie on November 21, 1977 and GianLuca on January 25, 1980. My wife is Italian from Naples where we live now.
My father is Virgil Ira Slater: born in Cobleskill(?), NY on July 5, 1923. My mother is June Adella Springstead Slater: born in Richmondville(?), NY on June 16, 1926.
My father's father was Ford Jay Slater. I don't know his birthdate or the exact location of his birth (the Cobleskill area). His wife was Emma Manshaeffer Slater. Once again, Idon't know her birthdate or exact birthplace.
I know even less about my maternal grandparents. My mother's father's name was Milo Springstead (middle name, if any, unknown to me). His wife's name was Effy (Effie) Springstead. (I don't know her middle name, if she had one or her maiden name).
I have a brother and a sister. Sandra Lee Slater was born in Cobleskill in February of 1948. My brother, Sheridan Jay was born in January of 1957. My wife also has a brother and a sister. Her brother Domenico and her sister Rafaella.
My wife's father's name was Giovanni Caccavale and his wife's name was Antonietta Cardone. I believe they were both born in Naples.
My father comes from a large family: nine girls and two boys. His siblings' names are Eunice, Marion, Dorothea, Phyllis(sp), Beverly, Lena, Alton, Arlene, Joan, and Donna. My father is second in line.
My mother's siblings' names are Marion, Myrtle, and Mason. I believe my mother was the third child.
Once we get to my grandparents, I know next to nothing at all. Sad isn't it.
