I have been reasearching our Family Tree for a little more than forty years and presently have over 2500 individuals in our tree. I have been at a dead end trying to locate the origin and birth place for the founder of the family for some time now. It is my hope to find someone within The World Family Tree, upon submitting a GED.com, that can Help solve this mystery for us. Johannes Schlegel departed Amsterdam aboard the Bilander Townsend 3 Mar 1737 and arrived in the Port of Philadelphia 5 Oct 1737. On 15 Aug 1738 Johann Christian Schlegel purchased 252 acres and 78 perches of land from Thomas and Richard Penn, heirs of William Penn. The cost of this land was 39 Pounds, 2 Shillings and 8 Pence. The land is located at Coxtown, now known as Fleetwood, Richmond Twp, Berks County, Pennsylvania in the East Penn Valley.
