In 2001 the resarch of the Slamon, Maher, Solimeo, and Johnson families started. The problem is the few remaining relatives who have information to supply. I have some old photographs, but the majority have been lost or misplaced. I joined a genealogy dot com and have been able to fill in gaps and discover information that my relatives did not know, like my Great Uncle had a twin sister. I found my paternal great grandfather, Patrick SLAMON (IRE) and great grandmother, Mary DONOVAN (IRE)who had children in MA and CT in late 1880's as well as my great grandfather, Nicholas MAHER (ME-1860) and great grandmother, Katherine CLARK (TN-1870's) who had children in DE and PA. I have no information on my maternal grandfather, Martin SOLIMEO (Italy) who came to US in 1890's as a child, but identified my other maternal great grandfather, Charles JOHNSON (NJ-1861), wife Martha, and my grandmother, Beatrice, and their entire family (Hightstown, NJ). The census information provided over the internet (at a cost) has been unblievable, providing the greatest thrills when I find family members, unknown cousins, boarders, jobs, etc. The greatest thrill so far was finding my great great grandmother, Mary (IRE-1822) still living with her son, Nicholas, in the 1900 (PA) Census. I identified my GGGF, Patrick MAHER, from a local 1900 (PA) directory.
