This is strickly the linage of Thomas Lee Smelser. While many more records exist this is just a snapshot. The earliest Smelser we can find is Paulser Smelser, who lived in Colonial Virginia. We do not know when he was born or where he was born. But in the year the French and Indian war started, Paulser (Palzer) Smelser, received 440 acres from Col. Westcott, on Jan. 13, 1754. The transaction is recorded in Augusta Co. Virginia Deed Book, No. 6, P. 64. His wife's name was Catherine. Paulser Smelser begat Paulser Smelser Jr. sometime between 1766-1770, he married Mary Gordon Feb. 6, 1793, Paulser Smelser Jr. begat Stephen Smelser around 1805 in TN. He married Elizabeth Greathouse sometime around 1824. Stephen Smelser begat Jasper Marion Smelser Sr. He was born July 24, 1838. He joined the Confederate Army on July 1, 1862. He married Sarah E. Meyers on May 18, 1868. Jasper Marion Smelser Sr. begat Jasper Marion Smelser Jr. He was born in Ark. on Dec. 1, 1883. He married Pearl Novella Melton on June 25, 1908. Jasper Marion Smelser Jr. begat Herbert Leo Smelser Sr. He was born in Mason Ark. on Sept. 9, 1911. He married Ethel Jane Hathcoat on Sept. 9, 1933. Herbert Leo Smelser Sr. begat Herbert Leo Smelser Jr. He was born on June 10, 1938 in Walnut Ridge Ark. He married Marlene Ann Dunn in Mich. on August 9, 1958. Herbert Leo Smelser Jr. begat Thomas Lee Smelser. I was born Jan. 21, 1962 in Wayne Mich. I married Jill Elaine Connelly Nov. 9, 1984 in Three Rivers Mi. We have had three children, Kelley Marie, Aaron Thomas and Corey Daniel. We now reside in Chapel Hill, TN.
