John Marten was christened on 30 December 1646 at Pirbright, Surrey.
He was the son of Henry Marten and Alice Harding.
He married Sarah Baker on 25 October 1675 by MLA, John was gave Pirbright as his home and Sarah gave Worplesdon as her home. He made a will on 5 June 1708;
John Martin of Pirbright, yeoman 5 Jun 1708 to my friend and kinsmen John Huntingford of Warplesdon, yeoman and John Jelley of Warplesdon, yeoman jnr all my moor land Andrews Moor, Pirbright (15 acres) and parcel of land Andrew Moor Mead (7 acres) and land Great Goal, Pirbright (7 acres) and parcel of land Tew Close Pirbright (3 acres) in my occupation to sell same and pay my daughters Mary Martin, Catherine Martin, Hannah Martin and Jane Martin £50 each residue to my son Henry Martin but if Henry pays these legacies he to have the land, residue to my son Henry exec.

He died before 5 February 1709.1 He was buried on 5 February 1709 at Pirbright, Surrey.
