John M.Smith Family Of Campbellsville,Ky.

About Our Family Research

I've just started doing research in the last year or so. I can fing lots of info on my mothers side of the family which is Vaughn's and Hatcher's of Adair County , Ky.
But I can't seem to find much on the Smith (father) or Whitloe(paternal Grandmother). They were originally from the
Brush Creek area of Green County, Ky.. then moved to Taylor County about 1910 or so. My Father died when I was 7, and most
of his family except for one of his brothers(Benjamin and Lura),
were already deceased as far as I know.
I do know where my grandfather and grandmother are buried, but other than that I don't know much about them. I do plan to go out this year when the weather warms and visit some of the cemetaries in the Brush Creek area and see what I can come up with. Also the Library in Greensburg said they had quite a bit of info there such as census and the like. Not much comes up on here when I do searches.
John M.Smith and Liza G. Whitloe had 7 children,
Joe Sam,John R.,Benjamin F.,Josephine, Noah Harvey (my father),
Quincy(i believe John Q.)and Clara. John R. must have passed away at a young age, because I never heard any mention of him,and I believe Clara died giving birth.
Noah had 4 children by his first wife Allie, Lester, Audry Mae, another girl, and Lewis Allen. Both of the two girls died at an early age, one was only about 12 or so. I do remember Lester and Allen Lewis (as we called him)but, both of them are deceased now too.
Then Noah had 4 children again,by Myrtle Christine Vaughn
(from Adair County), Don Lee , Joyce Elaine, Noah Michael, And John Milton(me).
Noah passed away in March of 1962,and Myrtle in October of 1994. If you have any questions or corrections e-mail me at
