I began my research last year by compiling data about my parents and their families. Our family history goes back as far as the late 1700's in Poland. We have some information about the Giro family that needs to be verified. We think that many windmills were built in Poland by the two sons of August Emile Recoulle. They apparently lived near the town of Bobrowka, Poland.
Most of my relatives immigrated in the late 1800's in the Boston, Brockton, New Jersey and Chicago. My ancestors have several versions of the Gerry name. Giero, Giro, and Gira are the most common. We also have family by the names of Witkowski, Swiek, Loiko, Cecchini, and Mahan.
