My interest in the personal history began as I studied history. Stories about the Civil War and what happened to my family peaked my curiousity as a young woman and became an obsession now that my children are married and raising families of their own. The computer age and my new found freedom from cooking, and tending let this obsession bloom into a real 'tree'. I have used the research facilities in Texas libraries in Lubbock, Wichita Falls and Dallas. I have made inquiries of various relatives and had help from some great folks who had done cemetary lists north of Dallas. My 97 year old grandmother still has a great capacity to help me with verification of facts. Travel plans include civil war battlefields, cemetaries in Alabama, and contact with Wood family members.
