I began learning about my family history from my Grandfather (who recently passed away). He was one of two sons of Harry Sanford Snead who settled in the dry farming country of Eastern Washington State. My great-grandfather, Harry Sanford, came with his brother "Browning" (as it reads in the headstone, I have seen Vincent Browning on other sites) and Ella Snead, a brother and sister. He also came with his wife, Irma L Alburty and her family. My grandfather told me my great-great grandfather was a Civil War Veteran named Napoleon Bonaparte Snead. With a name as unique as this, it made my search much easier. I owe a majority of the work to a Mary Herzog on Ancestry.com. She has researched the Snead line back to England, the only thing I had to do was verify this was indeed my line (which I am still doing). Her lineage ended with a Thomas Snead, whom had 3 sons, John , Jacob, and Alexander. Alexander had three sons as well, Matthew, Jacob, and Christopher. My search began with an Alexander, who had two sons, Christopher & Matthew. The dates match and other information I've gathered indicates this is correct. If anyone knows of any mistakes or more information feel free to contact me at niccisnead@hotmail.com.
