Genealogy project began when Gail Snider at Middleport, OH, compiled surviving data from family archives which had been ruined by the 1937 Ohio River flood. Her children are continuing it today.
The direct immigrant ancestor, John Snider, was born at sea in 1819 as his parents were emigrating from Bern Canton, Switzerland. Wives of direct ancestors are descended from some of the earliest settlers in NH, MA, MD, and VA.
