1. The current family name is SOOP. Gerald SOOP, my better half, was born in Webster City, Hamilton County, Iowa. His GGF, Alexander Soop, was born in New York, around Oswego Co. Other names is this family is Wiltsey (also Wiltz, Wiltsee, & various other spellings. The family originated in Luxembourg, and also has family from Holland who went to New York in the 1600's. HALDEMAN from Iowa is another name, the SPENCER family from New York, the BESHEY family from Iowa are also families we are interested in.
2. My family name is BARNES. Families I am researching are: GARCIA from Mexico, Morenci AZ, Colorado; ALVAREZ from Santa Rosalia, Chihuahua, Mexico & Morenci, AZ; HINOJOS from Chihuahua, Mexico probably Santa Rosalia; PRECIADO from La Colorado, Sonora, Mexico; OTERO from La Colorado, Sonora, Mexico; Gallego, from the Ures/Santa Ana area of Sonora, Mexico; GRIFFIN and BRUMMITT from Chattanooga, Hamilton County, Tennessee.
