Searching my family archives has not been an easy task. The Danes have lead meon a merry chase. But I have gone back about as far as I can it seems. The last (actually the FIRST sorensen I can find was NOT a Sorensen at all but a Larson/Larsen, Soren Laeson/Larsen who was married to an Ane Marie Sorensen. It was not until Martin Johann Sorensen came along, and its not known if he took his mothers, name or if he broke the tradition of naming his children in the the traditional way of using the Fathers FIRST name as part of the childrens last Name and using the Son or Datter as part of the Last Name. I found NO Martinsons or Martinsdatters in our family tree. The search continues for his brothers and sisters: Tinus (b 1857, Hjallerup, Denmark, and family Leno Peters b. 1862, Dronninglund, Denmark, and family Annie Marie b.March 9, 1845, Hjallerup, Denmarkand family Martha Margrette,b. October 23, 1848, Hjallerup, Denmark, and family family.
