I started researching my family tree with my Grandmother back in the early 70's. BC -- before computers/internet. What an invention, this is the greatest thing to help the genealogist of today look for their family across america!
My gram passed away in 2003, and then my dad in 2004....these were two of my most favorite people...and I miss them terribly. Gram will be happy that I am continuing my search, she always found her family background interesting, and passed that interest to me...we had alot of fun researching...and dad, well, he wasn't into it as much, but was always very interested when I found out something about his family! His is a hard family to trace, I haven't gotten to far with the Bayer name! But I am not giving up.
I continue to search, and use most of my spare time looking at old family photo's with a magnifying glass to see if I can spot something of interest. Maybe a lamp or piece of furniture that has passed down through the years...or a piece of jewelry. A place that I might recognize there are so many things that I am looking for.
I just wish Gram was still here, in good health so that we could have done this together...
