The Far Reaches of the Sosseurs and Conboys

Updated January 7, 2010

About Our Family Research

I found that my fathers surname was changed about 1900, when his grandfather left my great grandmother on the Lac Du Flambeau Indian Reservation to parts unknown. The name was Sausser, but somehow was changed to Sosseur. The Conboys, my mothers side have been very hard to trace back to Ireland, even though we have letters from Ballincurry, Ireland. The Native Americans have been next to impossible to trace, as they were not 'given' white names until somewhere around the middle of the 1800's.
