I do not know much about the "Spence" family. What I can tell you is my father is William Albert Spence, b.1923 in NewYork. He graduated from high school 6/06/1941 at Orlando, Florida and enlisted in the Army at CP Blanding, Florida that same year. Albert Spence, his father, had previously married and had a son, John and children, David, Claudia and Mary Ann. Eva Slavic, my grandmother, came to the United States when she was around 20 years old from Czechoslovakia. She lived in Orlando and passed in 1986. My Father had a sister, Beatrice who married Robert Atkins. They had three children: Gail, Robin and Guy. William Albert Spence was in the U.S. Army Air Forces during WWII from 1941 - 1947. He was a Flight Officer with the 396th BS in the Central Pacific. He earned the Distinguished Flying Cross with a Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster, an Air Medal with four Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters, an American Campaign Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, WWII Victory Medal and a Good Conduct Medal. My father passed away on Father's Day, 6/18/1978. He was the greatest, most wonderful man I have ever met. I love and miss him dearly. Alexis Spence
