Speer-Squier Connection

Updated February 25, 2007

About Our Family Research

This site is dedicated to the Families of the Ancestors of

John Ephraim Speer and Alice Ardella Squier

It's intent is to show the genealogy of the two major family lines and relationships to other families during the growth of our nation.

In constructing the genealogy links between the two families, the webmaster set an arbitrary maximum of 20 generations of family members for the two lineages. Both John and Alice are part of Generation 12 in the series. The Spier/Speer Line has been traced back to Generation 02 in Germany and the Squier/Squire Line goes back to Generation 05. The Maternal side (Gaddis) of the Squier Family Tree traces back several generations to early religious leaders in the New England Area.

Some of the maternal sides of both lines trace back to very interesting areas. One traces to Dutch Royalty (1500's) and another through France to around 1400 in England/Wales/Scotland.

I wish to thank one of my cousins who started this journey with early work on the Gaddis Line of the Family. Several other family members have been instrumental in peaking an interest in my continuation of their early works.
