As of the year 2006, I have been researching my family roots and have found a lot of interesting names and details of my ancestors. I always thought that my Mother's Canada roots/family directly came from Ireland/Scotland/England to Canada. But my research has found facts that show they came from the United States first..particully from New York and Massachusetts in the early 1600's. They migrated into New York and fought for the British and remained loyal to the crown. After their services for the military, they were given land grants in New Brunswick area by England in payment for loyality. One family that has a lot of information is the Sharp family who was give a land grant in 1784 at Hampstead. His name was Alexander Sharp and he was from New York. There are details about him and that he was originally from Scotland but was raised in New York from an early age. He married a Hester Campbell, the daughter of Tamerlane Campbell and Hester (Cunnabell) Campbell of Boston. I am still in the process of putting all the information into order while trying to find documentation to cement my genealogy as verified. I will add to this home page as I find new and interesting information.
