About Our Family Research

Hi! my name is Judy L. (SPENCER) Stratton and I have been working on my family histry now for about 7 years. My G.G.Grandfather "Alexander M. Spencer" was a Doctor in Missouri were he was born. In 1871 he moved from Pulaski Co. Missouri, to Red River Co. Texas were he homedsteded 160 acers. He was married twice his first wife was "Mary Hester Ann Calverd & Millie Williams" was his second wife. He had seven children with each wife, my line comes from the second wife "Millie Williams".

My Spencer side hold a "Family Reunion" in a small town near Paris Texas in Lamar Co. I have meet many new family members and have learned a lot about my family. We "Spencer" are a family with a lot of talent. I love to find new family members and find out more about ther line.I'am trying to find some of the grandchildren of "Dr. Alexanders M. Spencers" first marriage, but have not had any luck as of yet, but I dont give up we are also a hard head family.

There is a small family cemetery still on the land that "Dr. Alexander Spencer" homedsteded. He and his second wife Millie are buired there as well as some other Spencer's we belive that the "Nelson A. Spencer" and his wife "Mary E. Spencer" is his son from his first marriage. There are severl of his grandchildren buried there but no names on the graves. This little "Spencer Cemetery" is taken care of by the Spencer Children of Alexander Spencer's son "Leander"Lee"S.Spencer" he had five children with his first wife "Tennessee"Tinnie" Adaline Gadberry" and two with his second wife "Ella Hamil" The grandchildren of Lee Spencer is the side that has the "Family Reunion' ever year in July.

I would love to here from any "Spencer's" out there who think you might be of my "Spencer" side. always remember just as you think you are at a dead end a new path will open for you.
