The Bradsher Family in North Carolina and Beyond Updated February 4, 2003
About Our Family Research
John Bradsher received a land grant in Orange County (now Person County), NC, in 1755. His descendants live mostly in North Carolina, Arkansas, Tennessee, Missouri and Michigan, but in other places, too. Although the spelling of the name can be found frequently in old records in both the U.S. and England, the spelling took hold in Person and Caswell County, NC and those who spell it that way today can trace their beginnings to Person or Caswell County, NC.
Bradshers intermarried with the Winstead, Lea, Hawkins, Wheeley, Rimmer and other families of Person and Caswell County.
