Gaul and Hayes and Briggs Family Tree of California

My mom's side of the family (Briggs) has been somewhat hard to track. My mom moved from Illinois to California, and she lost track of most of her kin.
My father's mother and father came from Ireland. His brother married his wife's sister (Hayes) and they are a very interesting and out going part of the family.
The Gaul/Hayes families started off in San Francisco and before the 1906 earth quake, a branch of the family moved to Vallejo or Benicia California.
Patrick Gaul Sr. earned a medal for the Battle of Manilla Bay in the Spanish American War.
