My Calvert Ancestors from Virginia to Kentucky and beyond

Updated February 23, 2010

About Our Family Research

I along many other Calvert family relatives, some close some not so close, have spent years researching our Calvert lines. I personally have proved my line back to Reuben Calvert b. abt 1740 in Prince William County, Virginia, died 1777 on The Contentantial Line. Near what is now Trenton, New Jersey.
A lady by the name of Ella Foy O'Gorman spent most of 80 years researching the Calvert LINES. She did it by writing letters to Calvert families that she found, writing to librarys, court houses, for military records, census records, anything she could find. Before computers were around, she put it together, linked the families, seperated different Calvert family lines, in 1947 published a 766 page book. It is used like a Bible by Calvert researchers to this day, 2009. The title is "Calvert Family Descendants of Virginia."
We Calvert's have a DNA project going. Have found many cousins, and a few surprises. If you come upon this web site and you are a Calvert, please join in our DNA program, and Subscribe to Calvert_Yahoo news letter.
Take a look at the pages here and see if you find something of interest. Enjoy and happy hunting. Vicki K. Calvert Spencer
