About Our Family Research

Enous and Rosie (Patrick) Spinks were married in November 1903. Of this marriage bore 14 children. Some of whom passed away at birth. There was no law to keep records in Hardeman County until after 1908, so the children are know by names of other family members who have provided us with this information. Hardeman County became the city of Bolivar in the 1900's. Enous and Rosie Spinks raised their children in Bolivar, TN and some moved away to other states when they got older. Since this is an African-American family official records are hard to find. Some records were verified through the Tennessee State Library and Archives. We are still unsure who the parents of Enous Spinks are and how they came to settle in Hardeman County, TN.
