I haven't been doing my family tree for very long and currently searching my lines in England and eventually one line in Germany. I have only just got my lines out of my Country Australia and into where my Ancestors came from and it's here that I am having the most problems. I am only beginning to learn how difficult it really is!!.
Firstly the BROUGHTON family, going by my GGrandfather's Death Certificate of Harry in 1957 that they came out 73 years before. That means they came out in 1884, but I have searched the records from 1849 to 1896, Harry and his family are not on any list. That's my first worry, my second has to do with Harry's father John, Born in 1851?, going by the British 1881 Census information. John Married Emily LOWE, and they had five children James - Born: 1872, Harry - my GGrandfather Born: 1874, Thomas - Born: 1876, Ernest - Born: 1878 and Charlotte - Born: 1880/81, depending on when the Census was filled in. Emily and the Children were born in Brimington, Derbyshire, England. John was born in Grantham, Suffolk, England. They lived in Victoria Street in 1881 going by the Census. I am wanting to know who John and Emily's parents are, how and when did John, Emily and family came out to Australia!!.
