A Spilmon Reunion is held annually 1st weekend in August at the Little Egypt Youth Camp in Dahlgren, IL. This represents descendants of SAMUEL BAILEY SPILMON who married ELIZABETH ANN SOUTH on March 01, 1883 in White co ILL. SAMUEL. Samuel lived with a guardian Uncle surnamed Spillman in Gibson County IL. The South lineage has been traced back to Daniel South of Middlesex co NJ by other members of the South Family. I am a descendant of Wilber Anzel Spilmon and Beulah Marie Aaron. Wilber was the 2nd of 7 children. Wilber and Beulah settled in Eastern Franklin co IL, and had 12 children. My Father Marion Anzel Spilmon, was their 6th child. He left home about 16 year of age and worked with a traveling circus along with his uncle Claude before joining the Navy in April of 1944. While briefly out of service between 1955 and 1958, he and his brother lived and worked in Rockford, IL. It was there that he meet and married Genevieve Maureen Grogan. She was 1st Child of John Grogan an Irish Immigrant, and Gertrude Graef believed to be of Iowa City, IA and Austrian decent. My father retired from the Navy in 1969 an E9 MC Machinist Mate and settled in Necedah, WI. I am Marion's first child of 6 children. Marion passed away on October 19, 2010 of Lung Cancer. I drive a Taxi now for 'A Cab' in Las Vegas. I was in the Navy from 78-84. On Jan 9 1999, I married Natalia Michaelovnova Kravchouk of St Petersburg, Russia. She divorced me in 2004, when I moved to Las Vegas, and we are not amiable (her status is unknown). I am currently working with surviving members of the spilmon family to update the family history.
