I recently visited Bristol Maine and found more info on my Great-great grandfather Lemuel F. Jones 7/1837-3/26/1923
who lived his whole life in Bristol. He was a sailor and a captain. He married Abigail Miller (10/18/1836-10/22/1894) on 9/13/1853. She was the daughter of Capt. Thomas Miller (2/11/1801-1/15/1862) and Susan Sproul 11/17/1807-6/21/1875). I was able to visit Abigail's and her parents' graves. Lemuel Jones had several children with Abigail. My great-grandmother Helen was their eldest. After Abigail died Lemuel remarried a German woman named Dora and had a daughter Lillian and a son Edward. I had met Lillian long ago. On my recent trip I met a man who knew her and her husband Fred Olson. Their children have all moved away as far as I know. Lemuel's parents were Ira Jones d. 12/30/1840 and Margaret Perkins dates unk. married 11/3/1822. Lemuel was very young when his father died. I believe his sister Mary C. Jones married Thomas Fossett and Lemuel and another sister were living in their home according to 1850 census. I don't know what happened to their mother Margaret Perkins Jones.
Helen Jones Benner McGrath(Fleming) my great-grandmother
married twice. Her daughter Mary Etta McGrath 9/19/1887-1965 was my mother's mother. Sh married my grandfather David Reid Davis in 1905. My mother Dorothy 9/5/1916-9/4/1987 married my father J. Gerald Hession 1/16/1917-5/16/1991 on 7/22/1939. They lived mostly in Mass.
