The Hertfordshire HALLS family line appears to be traceable back via the female side to the 18th century CARRINGTON family of Tewin, Hertfordshire. The first male name we are sure of is George HALLS, but we know little about him and nothing about his preceding line. George married Charlotte ANSELL and their son George Alfred HALLS married Gwendoline BONNETT,(born 1908),the daughter of Herman(n) BONNETT and Maud GREEN. Alfred and Gwendoline had four daughters - including the present enquirer, wife of Nigel SPRY,(who's doing most research!).
On the BONNETT side we know that in the early 1870s William BONNETT,(born at Stotfold, Bedfordshire in 1851), married Helena (unknown). They lived at Watton-at-Stone, Hertfordshire and had 8 children including Herman(n).
There are later links with BENNETT (London) and WELLER (Kent and military) families.
