We are the Spyrou family and relatives of Epirus Greece. Old, proud and trustworthy Greek family of Northwestern Greek region, Epirus. Relative families are the Mpezas, Alexiou, Anagnostaki, Pikou...
The original name of our family is Likomanis and a part of us is Vlachi and Vlachofonoi meaning Rummanian speaking family. Devoted to Greece and our country s' history and fights for freedom. The family changed the name to Spyrou during the first decates of the 20th century out of the danger of the Turkish authorities and the muslim-Albanian bandits which ruled the region of Epirus.
As for the Alexiou family is quiet old, with Byzantine roots probably, and an ancestor as high priest of the greekorthodox church in Vlahia at 17th century.
Today our family lives in the same region and the capitol of Greece Athens, but also a part, in Toronto Canada and Stutgard Germany always dedicated to the values of the Greek orthodox church, Hellenism and the greek flag.
