Researching family history can turn up some interesting information. One ancestor in the Squires family was William A. Harding, a sea captain from Maine. I believe him to be the son of Nathaniel Harding, the captain of the Androscoggin, but I have no documentation to prove this.
Two ancestors in the Palmer family are named after American presidents, Andrew Jackson McGill and James Garfield Smith.
I'm having difficuly finding information on Andrew, as a search for death certificate turned up nothing.
Any help would be appreciated. I'm also willing to share information.
