Paul C. Cameron to Duncan Cameron (Raleigh) 25 Jul 1844: "We have several sick in the family of blacks and if we do not get rain soon I fear we shall have many more. No one is ill. A daughter of Abners has been ill, but I regard her now as convalescent."

Paul C. Cameron to Duncan Cameron (Raleigh) 20 Oct 1844: "Illness of Abners little child...The poor little sufferer expired on yesterday about noon--"
