PCC to DC (Buffalo Spgs, VA) 3 Aug 1845: "Whilst at Stagville a boy came up from Fish Dam--who reported several sick and as he sadi they had not been visited for several days either by Dr. H or Mr. Tate. I advised Virgil to go down who reports all doing very well but a woman or girl called Betsy who was sick before Uncle went from home."

?TDB (Stag) to Mildred CC (Ral) 28 Oct 1845 by York: "The old woman Bettey still lingers, rather more comfortable than she was, but will probably never again leave her bed..."
