"The Ickes Family of Michgan"

I am researching the ICKES family from Porter Township, Michigan.Adam Ickes was born in Coolspring, Jefferson County, Pennsylvania on June 15, 1848. He was the son of George Ickes.

In 1873 Adam moved to Michigan. Here he married Ida B. McManigal on October 5, 1879 in Schoolcraft, Michigan. To this union were born seven children: James B, Maybelle, Katherine, George W., Samuel, Jesse, and Frank.

Adam owned 360 acres of farmland in Porter Township, VanBuren County, Michigan. Later in life he moved to Pe Ell, Washington, where he died, July 26, 1913, at the age of 65 yars, 1 month, and 11 days.

In addition to the ICKES family, I am also researching the family surnames of: Burcham, Burkett, Cunningham, Day, Gilliland, Kinch, Lake, McManigal, Playford, Ruger, Westcott, Wheeler, and VanGilder.
