I have just recently decided to research my family tree and due to circumstances out of my control I do not have very much information to start with other than some names and dates of my early family tree. My mother was a status native and her records are very hard to locate as she knew very little about herself as her mother died when she was only a baby and her father did not know or remember much about his wifes past. My mother believed that her mother was born on the mississauga reserve outside of Blind River Ontario. She does not believe that her grandmother was legally married before her mother was born. I am also not sure of the spelling of my grandmothers maiden name. I believe it was Pegameseh.
