This family research is an ongoing project of Nancy Jane Suitt, grand daughter of James William James and Roberta Lea Newman James to identify and organize family photographs, and to put together the puzzle pieces of photos, letters, family documents, oral histories, handwork, relics, memories and relationships. In doing so, I continue to uncover treasures left by folks to whom I am connected by my birth into this family.
The earliest record I have discovered is of Edward Pulliam, who appears to be my great (X10) grandfather. The information, undocumented, that I have is that "he paid his own passage and entered as a free citizen, hence of genteel English family of means". He was born in England in 1600 and emigrated in 1636 to Henrico County, Virginia.
Until now, his descendants have remained in NC. Our two generations of descendants are scattered and we want them to have access to this history as they continue the line, in the media of their generation.
