1/6/02 SUNDAY A.M. My research begins and ends with dead ends and road blocks about my family who came before me. I have worked diligently to obtain more data in order to learn the place my grandparents migrated from in order to discover and learn how they came to this country. I remember a great deal from my childhood when my own father related events and memories. My mother rarely expressed feelings and memories and although she has living brothers they have not added one iota to my hunt for family before me. I have been able to discover some facts from records after researching via the Census of 1900 and following through to request certificates of birth, death, baptism from church and other records. Relatives have not been eager and helpful in my search except to ask for information I've obtained for their own records.
My own siblings have not demonstrated interest as well as my own children about the genealogy from which I came. On the contrary, they seem divorced from wanting to know about my family. Quite the opposite on the side of their father although they have expectations that there are people who came before on their father's side which may have prestige or status which appears to be lacking on my own genealogy.
So I continue to be interested and eager to discover and press forward to learn new techniques to guide me in ways to find more data about my forefathers and their families before them.
