We are researching the Luke/Musslewhite and Sumner/Roberts families from Ben Hill and Irwin Counties in South Georgia.
George Washington Luke(descended maybe from a William Luke) appears in the HISTORY OF IRWIN COUNTY by Clements as a private in the 49th Georgia Regiment, Co F. G.W. Luke (1836 to 1916) married Sarah Hally Steely and both are buried in Crisp Cemetery, north of Fitzgerald, GA. Looking for Steely(ie) families in GA and AL.
In addition, we are researching the Elder Charles Roberts and Lindsey families of Irwin County, GA. All descendents of the Crowford Tucker families.
We are also researching the Sumner Family and descendents of Jessie C. Sumner (and son, William with grandson - James).
Any information that you would be willing to share would be greatly appreciated.
