About Our Family Research

Hello friends and family. I am the great grandaughter of Samuel Reardon Conley and Jennie (Jane ) Thornton Conley and the grandaughter of Lillie Margaret Conley ( m Wellyn E Hammond ) his youngest daughter. I have always had an interest in the family history and geneology and my grandfather did as well. I accessed the genforum site to find out more about the Conleys. I have the history back to North Carolina and began on the old country roots after that. I remember my grandmother saying she couldn't remember whether it was her grandfather's great grandfather or his great great grandfather who came from Ireland in the early 1700's to North Carolina. Our Conley line originated in Limerick Ireland in the very early 1700's. John Conley was the first Conley born in the new world in 1744 we think His father was the one to emigrate . Most of the John's are John A and the A stands for Andrew. My Great grandfather Samuel Conley was actually named Samuel Reardon Andrew Conley. I will be happy to share information about the Conleys and hopefully other Conley's are as well. I look forward to hearing from other Conleys.
