In 1970, I began asking relatives about my ancestry. Shortly thereafter, a distant cousin, James Glacking, called and asked if my father was related to Richard Glackin and James Glackin. My father was happy to respond to his questions, but told him I was much more interested in this "stuff", so I began my research venture.
At that time, my Aunt Annie (Anna Glackin-Burns-Billeter)was still alive and able to help me immensely. My Aunts Josephine Glackin (Pittman) and Betty Glackin (Atkinson) had to good fortune to be able to travel back to Libertyville and visit with James Glacking and share the information they had.
I have been trying to fill in the blanks since then using relatives, Ancestry.com, Genealogy.com, and The Family Center (LDS) records. Each has provided me with additional information, but there are still a lot of undocumented entries.
I would love to hear from relatives and receive additional information and records to support this research.
