I have family in Alabama (Carters,Shacklefords), Tennessee (Moore) Florida (Schell), Ohio (Swartz, Oller) Missouri (Swartz, Wells, Doiel), Kansas (Swartz), Iowa (Swartz), Maine (Smith-descendants of three brothers who had moved from Bristol, England to Maine and built a home near Kittery in 1650. This home is now a resort.)I am a descendant of Germans, Swedish, Cherokees, Choctaws and English. I am currently tracing my great-grand-grandmother, Belle Carter, a pureblooded Cherokee who seems to have no history. She had 12 children, the oldest of which was Carrie Carter, my grandmother's mother. Carrie Carter married Arzie Bernice Shackleford and they had two children, only the oldest of which (born in 1932) survived. Her name is Helen Maxine Shackleford Swartz. She married Owen Lee Swartz in 1955 and they had five children, the oldest of which is my father, Robert Eugene Swartz. I am his second child.
My mother is Michele Wells Swartz. Her parents are Gordon Lee Wells and Marjorie Sue Doiel Wells. Gordon Wells' parents are from Iowa and originally from Sweden. He has two brothers, Eldwin, Andrew and one sister, Mardine. Majorie Sue Doiel has one brother Walter Lee Doiel Jr (Sunny). He married Sandy (?).
