The Swanberg Family Tree Updated December 15, 2002
About Our Family Research
Here are my two family trees, the Swanberg’s, and the Howard’s. I have included a few photos of my family, from both sides. This project has been very tough to accomplish, especially from the Swanberg’s side. Because of this project, communications between my uncles Curtis Swanberg, and Maurice Swanberg have started up again after 25 years. I have found out valuable information on several of my family members health, and this I can pass on to future generations.
My grandma Swanberg was an accomplished model and registered nurse, despite the fact that she was an alcoholic and later died from that disease. My father and his brothers all have different birthplaces due to their father being a traveling salesman. I found out that I have three-second cousins whom nobody knows anything about because of an incident that happened 25 years ago. My cousin Michael Swanberg killed himself on his 18th birthday while trying to drink 18 beers. He asked his sister Cindy to borrow her truck keys so he could buy more beer. He lost control of the truck and hit a telephone pole that crushed his skull. My uncle curt holds Cindy personally responsible for Michael’s death, and he has never forgiven her.
This is a very tragic situation because he has three grandchildren that he has never met. Michael’s death is another example of what happens when you drink and drive. I now have photos of my grandpa Howard whom I have never seen. I have learned that my uncle Robert Howard served proudly on the USS Liberty that is now dry-docked in New York. My uncle William Howard was a tail gunner on a B-17 Bomber in WWII, and I am trying to acquire photos of the two of them in uniform.
I am very happy to have done this project and I hope my fellow classmates enjoy browsing at the tree’s and photos that I have provided. I look forward to viewing my classmates site’s as well.
