Nick Dean Swanstrom was born in Hastings, Adams County, Nebraska, USA, in 1959 to Elroy Dean Swanstrom (Nora, NE, USA; deceased) and Shirley Louise Braye-Swanstrom (Sidney, NE, USA). He has a brother, David Lee Swanstrom (Hastings, NE, USA), and sister, Pamela Sue Swanstrom-Wilderman-Kerns (Lincoln, NE, USA).
Nick is married to Cheri Lea Hachmeister-Swanstrom who was born in 1958 in Hays, Ellis County, Kansas to Donald Ferdinand Hachmeister and Cora Lea Cafferty-Hachmeister (deceased) of Hill City, Kansas, USA. Nick and Cheri have two daughters - Kitska Rene (Swanstrom) Garrison and Alicia Marie Swanstrom. Our son-in-law (Kitska's husband) is J. Cason Garrison. Nick retired from the federal government in March 2009 (previously having worked over the past 24 years for the NCIS, EPA CID, and Treasury Department; and 16 years of intelligence service in the U.S. Naval Reserves as a Commander (O5)). Cheri works as an Assistant Controller for Brookfield Washington Homes in northern VA. Kitska works for Perot Systems in Virginia and attends George Mason University. Alicia graduated from Auburn University and will be attending graduate school at the University of Virginia in the fall (Updated: Summer 2009).
