Several years ago I began asking my grandfather, Julio Monserrate Velez about his parents and siblings. Then I started browsing internet sites and in Genforum.com I came across messages which had names that my grandfather had mentioned. Since then I have had contact with about 8 people who are indeed related. I have some information on about 100 people in the Velez Family. My great grandfather's name was either Jose Miguel or Miguel Velez. His wife was Valentina Pagan Cruz. They had 6 children, Lola, Esmeraldo, Jorge, Americo, Adelina and Julio. Jose Miguel had 2 brothers, Marcelo Velez and Francisco (Pepe) Velez. Marcelo had 4 chilren, Marcelo jr., Terasha, Marina and I do not have the name of the 4th. Francisco had 7 Children. They are Ramon, Peter, Gonzalo, Justo, Tuamachao, Eladio and Domingo. I have contact with one of Justo's grand-sons. I am still search and eager to hear from anyone out there related to us.
