When gathering information for my family tree, I learned that my grandfather Hull died from emphysema and heart failure. From the death of my grandfather, they learned that all of his descendants have a possibility of dying from the same hereditary heart failure, as well as diabetes. My grandparentís son William Hull passed away from the same form of hereditary heart failure on January 2, 1981 and my father John Hull Jr passed away on December 21, 1981 from alcoholism and hereditary heart failure as well. My Aunt Ann was diagnosed with an unknown disease that was slowly killing her; unfortunately, she committed suicide on September 6, 1977. I was told that she did not want to be a burden to her mother, here is another thing that can not be verified through any one due to the fact the relatives that knew about this are all deceased. I have a 36-year-old cousin named Jerry who has had three massive heart attacks by the time he was 23 years old, this was due to the hereditary heart problems and the onset of juvenile diabetes. I was just informed of a distant cousin who has an 18-month-old baby that was just diagnosed with juvenile diabetes. On the Smith side of the family there is also hereditary heart disease, diabetes, glaucoma, high blood pressure and cancer. My grandmother died from heart failure resulting from diabetes. My mother passed away from a triple by pass, because her arteries could not withstand the pressure of the blood pumping through them, her arteries were to thin, she also had fibrocystic breast which is hereditary as well. My Uncle Hershel passed away on April 22, 2002 from cancer which we found to hit some generations and not others, unfortunately I was one of the ones that it hit as I have had cervical cancer twice, no more since 1989 thank god. My sister Sharon has had fibrocystic breast. I will continue to look for information on our family tree because this project has really taught me that this information would and could be beneficial for my children and all future generations. I will be downloading the family tree to a re-writeable CD and sending copies to the one relative, I have left who has been looking into the Reed-Durbin ancestry.
