The Terry Otis Swyers Jr of Hurricane, Utah

Updated August 6, 2004

About Our Family Research

My family research on my fathers side is starting by me at my age of 61 in Hurricane, Utah. It is Friday, August 6, 2004. My Sister Pat did some initial research which gave me a starting place.
My search begins with a year membership in an online data base co. called Genealogy.com. I have arranged to purchase the latest PAF (Personal Ancestry File) which will arrive in two to three weeks. In the mean while I will be studying as a beginner from Genealogy.com, and from the LDS Church training program from the Family Search division at Temple square in Salt Lake City. All of this studying will be online on the internet.
I will have to study from home as I have spent the last twenty two years as a quadriplegic as the results of MS. After suffering from A blood clot in my lunges I have spent the last twelve years bedridden. What research I do will be done via my Laptop computer. I hope to get as far as possible before the Lord restores my health in his presence.
My Father was born in Jobs Hocking, Ohio in 1911. His father was a coal miner at the Jobs coal mine as well as his father before him, What I know now is that My grandfathers Name was Otis, and his fathers name was Thomas, Meager beginnings to be sure but at least I know how to start my search. My search will hopefully never end but will be taken over by one or the other of my children.
